A lifelong wish to work with clay found its time in 2016, and I was captivated by the art. As both a ceramic artist and a yoga practitioner, I quickly recognized the deep connection between working with clay and practicing yoga—each inviting focus, intention, and mindful presence. Through this, I came to see myself as part of a vast, interconnected universe, and my clay practice became a way to explore what we truly are within it.
Balancing wheel work and handbuilding, I create pieces that reflect both dynamic energy and peaceful stillness. Clay offers me a gentle, grounded way to delve into my inner landscape and deepen my connection with the world around me. Inspiration flows from nature, and an ongoing exploration of my place within it shapes my work.
Living in Haarlem, between Amsterdam and the beach, I’m inspired by the surrounding landscapes. The grounding I find in clay allows me to freely explore forms and glazes, letting nature and mindfulness bring quiet purpose to each piece.
As a teacher, my background in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and reiki occasionally flows into my clay workshops, adding depth and intention to the experience I share with others.
